THE MIND TRIES TO THINK TO ONE OBJECT, TO HOLD ITSELF TO ONE PARTICULAR SPOT, AS THE TOP OF THE HEAD, THE HEART, ETC, AND IF THE MIND SUCCEEDS IN RECEIVING THE SENSATIONS ONLY THROUGH THAT PART OF THE BODY, AND THROUGH NO OTHER PART, THAT WOULD BE DHARANA, AND WHEN THE MIND SUCCEEDS IN KEEPING ITSELF IN THAT STATE FOR SOME TIME IT IS CALLED DHYANA (MEDITATION). SAMADHI WHEN THAT, GIVING UP ALL FORMS, REFLECTS ONLY THE MEANING, IT IS SAMADHI. THAT IS, WHEN IN MEDITATION ALL FORMS ARE GIVEN UP. THE BRAIN IS THE PHYSICAL MEDIATOR OF CONSCIOUSNESS, LINKING MIND, BODY AND EMOTIONS INTO ONE HARMONIOUS UNIT, THE NEUROSURGEON AFFECTS THE BODY BY STIMULATING THE BRAIN. THE REST OF RELATIONSHIPS GIVE PLEASURE AND PAIN, SMILES AND TEARS AND LOVE AND HATRED. MOREOVER THEY KEEP CHANGING AS TIME PASSESS. THE BEST WAY TO MAKE MIND A GOOD FRIEND IS TO FORGET. FORGET THE BODY. FORGET THE SURROUNDING ENVIRONMENT. FORGET THE FAMILY AND RELATIVES. FORGET WORRIES. FORGET HAPPINESS. FORGET EVERYTHING EXCEPT THE ABSOLUTE THE TRUTH. GOD OR BRAHMAN. FORGETTING IS NOT EASY HENCE MIND SHOULD BE ENGAGED ALL THE TIME IN GOD'S NAMEOR MANTRA.
